I’m so excited to share a new recipe with you! I created this recipe with my kids using some of our delicious pecan candy. This summer has been terribly hot here in Texas and most of us in the south have been super sad about Blue Bell Ice Cream being unavailable at our local grocery stores. So in order to satisfy my cravings I have been making a whole lot of homemade ice cream. Since we’ve mastered our vanilla recipe, my kids and I decided that it was time to get a little more creative. That’s how our Praline Pecan Ice Cream recipe was discovered.
You are going to love me for sharing this with you! It is amazing and has just the right amount of praline pecan pieces in it. I brought it to a recent party that we attended with some friends and family and it was the first dessert to disappear from the dessert table. That’s how I always judge the success of my dishes! Of course, that meant that there wasn’t any to take home to enjoy later, so…..we had to make another batch the next day!
How to Make Praline Pecan Ice Cream
The first step is to gather all your ingredients together. Add the first five ingredients and stir. I have a traditional ice cream maker to make my ice cream, but I know there are more modern ones out on the market now.
Here’s my favorite part…the Pecan Pralines. So good! You can buy these yummy treats at our retail store in San Saba, Texas or on our website at www.millicanpecan.com. Be sure to cut them into small pieces before you add them to the bowl.
Once the pralines have been added then place the mixing wand in the bowl and secure the lid on top.
Put the bowl in the bucket and secure the motor on top. Pack the ice and rock salt in the space around the bowl. Be sure to layer the ice then a layer of rock salt and keep repeating this process until you reach the top of the bowl. That way you keep the ice from melting and your ice cream will actually freeze in a shorter amount of time. If this is done correctly then your ice cream will be ready to eat in about 45 minutes. As you can see from the pictures below, my kids really enjoyed their ice cream. In fact, my oldest daughter attempted to steal some from her younger sister, but that younger one plays defense really well.
I’m hoping you enjoy this treat as much as we have. The recipe is provided below for your convenience. Make sure you visit us online at our website for more great recipes!
