If you have yet to come across a decent recipe then take a look at the following list. Imagine a smooth crunch of rich flavor combined with your favorite dishes. These are some of the most intriguing and delicious dinner choices that include pecans.

Sweet & Spicy Butter Pecan Chicken

Ingredients:

1-1 ½ pounds of diced chicken

1 sweet onion (finely chopped)

½ cup of chopped green onions

2 teaspoons of salt

Pinch of black pepper

1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

½ cup of chopped pecans

¼ cup of dark brown sugar

½ cup of butter

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (or your favorite oil - e.g. olive, canola, coconut oil)

½ cup of water

Directions:

  1. In a deep skillet, heat oil and melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium to high heat. Add finely chopped onions. Once onions are soft, add chicken, water, salt, and peppers. Cover and let cook for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Once water is boiling, add the rest of the butter, brown sugar, and pecans. Reduce heat to low and slowly mix everything until the butter is melted and the sugar is well-combined.

  3. Increase to medium heat, cover, and let it cook for 5-10 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked.

  4. Use a soup ladle to serve. This is perfect over rice or mashed potatoes. Don’t forget to drizzle sweet & spicy pecan sauce over the plate. Enjoy!
